@All eligible young people and parents:

The 2026 Direct Recruitment of Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) pre-registration officially launched on March 18. Every passionate pursuit requires a clear understanding of application requirements in advance to ensure a smoother journey toward your dream. Among them, eyesight is a critical "one-vote veto item" in the physical examination. Young people who temporarily fail the standard due to myopia are advised to plan for vision correction surgery early to avoid missing out on their dreams.

Based on the Physical Examination Standards for Recruited Citizens and Detailed Rules for Non-Commissioned Officer Recruitment, we have compiled the official eyesight requirements and regulations for your reference:

Official Eyesight Standards for Directly Recruited NCOs (Mandatory Requirements)

Failure of either eye will result in direct disqualification.

01 Uncorrected Visual Acuity Standard

  • Uncorrected vision of either eye < 4.5 → Disqualified

  • Uncorrected vision ≥ 4.5 and < 4.8 → Corrected vision must meet the standard

  • Uncorrected vision ≥ 4.8 → Qualified

02 Corrected Visual Acuity Standard

  • Corrected vision ≥ 4.8

  • Refractive error ≤ -6.00 D (600 degrees)

  • No significant anisometropia, amblyopia, or strabismus

03 Official Requirements for Surgical Correction

After excimer laser surgery (excluding ICL and other intraocular lens implantation procedures), with a recovery period of more than 6 months, no complications, uncorrected vision of both eyes ≥ 4.8, and normal fundus. Qualified except for special-duty personnel.

Not accepted: Intraocular lens implantation (ICL etc.)

Qualified Conditions:
  1. At least 6 months after surgery

  2. No complications or sequelae

  3. Normal fundus

  4. Uncorrected vision of either eye ≥ 4.8 post-surgery

Interpretation of Official Surgical Correction Requirements

To qualify for military service via vision correction surgery, the correct procedure and sufficient recovery time are essential. The official policy clearly specifies excimer laser surgery only, which includes three recognized types:

ReLEx SMILE, FS-LASIK, and TransPRK (surface ablation).

With advanced technology, more safe and effective options are available for myopia correction. At Dongguan Aier Eye Hospital, we provide mainstream laser procedures including:

Robotic SMILE Pro, Quanta Light Sculpture, Precision SMILE, and C+ Refine.

Top-tier SMILE — Robotic SMILE Pro

Building on the traditional "minimally invasive, flapless" SMILE advantages, Robotic SMILE Pro features:
  • Laser ablation per eye within 10 seconds

  • Automatic eye tracking & positioning, greatly reducing suction loss

  • Smoother lenticule creation, faster recovery, better visual quality

It is equipped with a robotic adjustable bed, 3D free-moving console, and 8-color ambient lighting, highlighting ultra-fast, intelligent, and safer performance.

As of January this year, Aier Eye Hospital has performed over 10,000 SMILE Pro surgeries.

Since its introduction in July 2025, Dongguan Aier has completed over 500 SMILE Pro procedures.

Top-level FS-LASIK — Quanta Light Sculpture

Preoperative comprehensive eye data (138,000 measurement points including corneal topography, thickness, axial length, wavefront aberration) creates a personalized 3D eye model.

Patented light-tracing technology simulates 2,000 light rays for precise customized ablation.
Combines femtosecond and excimer lasers for truly full-eye personalized vision correction.

Since its launch in May 2024, Dongguan Aier has performed over 1,000 Quanta Light Sculpture surgeries with excellent patient feedback on high-quality vision.
